IMR would like to announce a new vacancy position in the capacity of president of the organization. The potential candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience, profound knowledge of Russian politics, and understanding of the current US media and political landscape. POSITION: PRESIDENT, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 + years of experience in foreign policy, national security, public administration or related field, ideally within a government agency, nonprofit entity, or a think tank
  • Profound understanding of Russian politics; knowledge of the Russian language is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, entrepreneurial/startup approach, and ability to get things done
  • Excellent knowledge of the current US media and political landscape
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations
  • High integrity, great sense of work ethic and teamwork

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership: The President will lead the efforts to build the IMR’s organizational infrastructure, expand its network, and develop strategic partnerships. He or she will be responsible for the long- and short-term planning, program and project development to ensure consistent growth and impact.

The President will work on IMR’s positioning among the target audiences, including (but not limited to) policymakers, think tanks, and the media.

Operations: The President will report to the Board of Directors regarding the implementation of IMR’s strategic plans to further its mission and expand the reach.

The President will cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board of Directors, the staff, and IMR’s partners to ensure excellent performance, smooth day-to-day operations, and continuous progress toward the stated goals. 

The President will lead IMR’s planning and operation of the annual budget. He or she will work closely with the Treasurer to set financial priorities and monitor the budget implementation.

Strategic communications: The President will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to raise awareness about IMR and to advance its mission through various outlets, events, and relationships.

The President will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to coordinate editorial planning and media strategies to produce and distribute content, such as reports, articles, etc., through various platforms.

He or she will serve as IMR’s primary spokesperson and will manage media relations to maximize media opportunities for IMR and its experts. The President will also track and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics through data-driven reports.

Fundraising: The President will oversee fundraising operations. As a chief fundraiser, he or she will be recruiting donors, attending fundraising functions, and develop new fundraising ideas and events.

Corporate responsibility: The President will preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors and shall be an ex officio member of all committees of the Board.

The President will also be charged with seeing that all orders and resolutions of the Board of Directors are carried into effect and shall have the general powers and duties of management usually vested in the office of President of a corporation.

The President may execute and deliver, or authorize other Officers to execute and deliver, on behalf of the Corporation, agreements, certificates and other legal documents, and bind the Corporation to same, relating to the business and financial affairs of the Corporation.
